Ride-On Toy Maintenance Checklist

A quick, sensible routine to keep electric ride-ons safer, cleaner and ready for play.

Before play

Check the battery is charged, tyres or wheels look secure, steering feels normal and there are no loose panels, exposed wires or missing screws.

For vehicles with parental remotes, test the remote before handing over to younger drivers.

After play

Wipe mud and water away, especially around switches, charging ports and control boxes. Let the vehicle dry before storage.

Recharge according to the instructions rather than waiting until the battery is completely flat every time.

Every few weeks

Inspect connectors, pedal switches, charger cables and wheel fixings. Listen for changes in motor sound or signs the vehicle is working harder than usual.

Keeping common spares available can save a birthday weekend when a charger or switch fails.
